Lymphedema Care
Lymphedema is a chronic condition caused by a compromised lymphatic system, leading to significant swelling in the arms, legs, or other parts of the body. This condition often arises from cancer treatments, infections, surgeries, or genetic predispositions.
Advanced Care for Complex Lymphatic Conditions
At Lymph Bright, we provide specialized care using Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD), which integrates a range of techniques to address lymphatic decongestion, deconstruction of blockages, and rerouting of lymphatic pathways.
Our Lymph Bright Protocol™ is designed to alleviate symptoms related to lymphedema, improve mobility, and support long-term health.

Frequently asked questions
-
Lymphedema occurs due to damage or blockages in the lymphatic system, leading to fluid accumulation. Causes include cancer treatments, surgeries, infections, and genetic conditions.
-
Lymphedema involves swelling caused by a blockage in the lymphatic system, often affecting one limb more than the other and extending into the hands or feet. Lipedema is characterized by symmetrical fat buildup in the legs and hips, sparing the hands and feet, and often causing a "ring" effect at the wrists or ankles.
-
Yes, MLD helps prevent cellulitis by improving circulation, reducing swelling, and minimizing the risk of fluid stagnation where infections often occur.
-
If you’re undergoing chemotherapy or radiation, physician approval is required. For those who have completed treatment, no doctor’s note is needed to begin MLD sessions.
-
Treatment frequency depends on severity. Clients typically start with an intensive series, followed by periodic maintenance sessions.
Important Note: Cancer treatments such as radiation, surgery, or lymph node removal significantly increase the risk of lymphedema. At Lymph Bright, we require a physician’s approval before starting lymphatic massage if you are undergoing chemotherapy or radiation therapy. Once treatment is complete, no doctor’s note is necessary, and you can begin managing your symptoms with MLD.
Cellulitis is a bacterial infection causing redness, swelling, and pain, commonly affecting individuals with lymphedema due to impaired lymphatic flow. If you have active cellulitis symptoms, avoid lymphatic massage, as it can worsen the condition. For a history of cellulitis, consult your doctor before booking a session to ensure safe treatment.
